This simply means that as Year-Maths tutors work with an individual student, they give him their undivided attention, providing direct instruction and consistently guiding the child. This type of one-on-one interaction ensures students will have their questions and needs addressed quickly. At Year-Maths, there is no danger of being "left behind," as might occur in a larger group setting.

In the majority of our academic tutoring programs, Year-Maths tutors work with no more than three children at a time, always ensuring an extremely low student-teacher ratio of 3:1. While the first student is receiving direct instruction, the second and third are engaged in guided or independent practice. This model encourages students to learn and practice skills without becoming reliant on the constant affirmations or suggestions of a tutor.

Research supports Year-Maths's choice to structure in-centre academic tutoring sessions with up to three students per tutor. This approach is cost-efficient for you as a parent and also benefits your child through positive peer examples when the students share similar academic tutoring needs.
